These essays can help you get ideas for your own writing. There are good and bad examples here, so you need to be extra careful about using information you find on this site.

If you find a good quote from an essay here, you have two options:

  • Verify: If it is a statement of fact, you will need to find the original, published resource. Some essays have bibliographies, which can help you.

    When you find the original resource, you should quote the resource - not this web site.

  • Quote: You can quote the information directly from this web site. Here are two examples of how you may quote this site:

    1. Quote the item within the body of your essay:

      According to the author of Feminism And Gender Equality In The 1990's (http://allfreeessays.com/essays/Feminism-And-Gender-Equality-In-The-199039S/13496.html), women who carefully follow their expected roles may never recognize sexism as an oppressive force in their life.

    2. Quote the item in a footnote:

      Women who carefully follow their expected roles may never recognize sexism as an oppressive force in their life (see footnote 1).

      1. Feminism And Gender Equality In The 1990's,
      http://allfreeessays.com/essays/Feminism-And-Gender-Equality-In-The-199039S/13496.html

If you don't properly quote or verify information you're using from this site, then you are plagiarizing. Students who are caught plagiarizing will be expelled from school!

The most difficult part about using this site for research is that many essays here contain incorrect information. Let's say you copy a paragraph from an essay, but you don't verify it or quote it. When your teacher corrects your paper, (s)he will ask you where you found this incorrect information. Bingo, you just got caught for plagiarizing!

If you're writing an "opinion paper" (which doesn't always require any quotes or facts), don't be tempted to copy an essay here. Some essays are not very well written. So, even though you won't get caught for plagiarism, you will get a bad grade anyway.

Here is an example paragraph from an essay on this site:

I'm doing a report on gangs. I need to start off by saying that a lot of the stuff I'm about to say, I think is bull sh*t.

If you research some basic tips on how to write a good essay, then you have a better chance of earning a good grade. Because I do not reject any essays submitted to this site, you will need to know how to identify a well written essay from a poorly written essay.
