An Unforgettable Woman
What a coincidence
It was August 1995. I was just starting first grade. Unbeknownst to me, I was going to meet an absolutely amazing person that school year. Her name was Lisa. She most definitely etched herself into my memory not only with her mesmerizing beauty, but also with her amazing intellect, superb athleticism, and overall personality. She also has a firm place in my memory because she was the first non-relative influence that taught me, women are just as, if not more than, capable as men are in most areas; not to mention she was the first girl to give me a kiss.
Lisa was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She had shoulder-length, shimmering, coca-cola brown hair. She had some of the most striking and captivating amber colored eyes I had ever seen. She had, what most would consider, an absolutely gorgeous face. From her passion fruit colored lips, to her prominent, but womanly cheek bones, I found her face to be beautiful and inviting. Her skin was a most intriguing and beautiful olive tone, due to her Italian heritage. Not only did her striking features find a way to etch themselves into my memory, so did her astounding intellect.
Up to that point in my life, and for a few years after that school year, I had yet to find anyone on the same level of intelligence as me in school. I will always remember her as the first girl, and certainly not the last, who bested me on more than one occasion in our school work. Not just in one area of study did she “give me a run for my money”, but most of what we studied she did. A good example of that was when we were tested for our A.R. reading level. A.R. stands for accelerated reading. Everyone had to take this test, and your reading comprehension and how extensive and knowledgeable your vocabulary was denoted by certain colors.
